Panos Kanellis is the President of the American Farm School in Thessaloniki, Greece. This US nonprofit educational institution has provided farming education to high school students since 1904. Mr Kanellis vision is to build consciousness in sustainability, natural resources and the environment, a serious of eco schools have been planned, starting with pre-Kindergarten with a full elementary program to follow. Received PhD and post-doctoral training in bio-organic Chemistry from University of Houston then spent four years as Assistant Professor at University of Alabama Medical School. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
